In the 1920s Joseph Pilates created a series of intelligent movements that were called Contrology. He believed in complete coordination of your body movements and stated, “It is the mind itself that builds the body.” Now called Pilates, it develops your core muscles to keep you in balance of your mind and body. By focusing on breath and core stability, you can increase your strength, posture and flexibility. Pilates includes both unassisted mat work and/or equipment work.
